Civil Engineering Technician

 

Summary:

The civil engineering technician designs a variety of well pad, water storage impoundment, production pad, roadway, and pipeline projects for oil and gas operations.  Work involves preparing construction plans and details, engineering calculations, permitting documents, and erosion and sedimentation control and stormwater management reports.  The civil engineering technician will be required to utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D software and Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Education/Qualifications:

  1. Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or Design Technology from a recognized CADD training facility.
  2. Minimum 4 years experience in land development design.
  3. Pennsylvania oil and gas civil design and permitting experience is preferable.

 

Requirements/Skills:

  1. Must be able to self-check own work to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  2. Able to work closely with engineers and other company personnel  to obtain information or ensure drawing clarity.
  3. Able to work with minimal supervisor, be a self-starter, and be detail-oriented.
  4. Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  5. CADD system proficiency.
  6. Excellent knowledge of drafting standards.
  7. Valid driver’s license.
  8. ARC/GIS experience is preferable.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and/or coordinate with other technical employees to ensure successful completion of well pad, water storage impoundment, production pad, roadway, and pipeline projects for oil and gas operations.
  • Work closely with all departments in the company to ensure that technical drawings and reports convey the correct information.
  • Calculate project quantities and prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Conduct field studies and surveys as needed to obtain project information.
  • Prepare and present technical analyses and reports.
  • Prepare Erosion & Sediment Pollution Control and Post-Construction Stormwater Management Plans and Reports.
  • Prepare federal, state, and municipal permit applications.
