Manager, Safety

 

Summary:

This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining policies, procedures, and training programs consistent with sustaining a safe workplace.

 

Education/Qualifications:

  1. B.A./B.S. in related safety field or minimum 7 years equivalent experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in Safety field.
  3. Minimum 3 years of experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry.
  4. Specialized Safety Training and Certification related to oil and gas exploration and production.
  5. OSHA 501 Certificate
  6. Well control certificate (Drilling and Workover)
  7. Must have current Operations Level HAZWOPER Certification.

 

Requirements/Skills:

  1. Must possess a working knowledge of the oil and gas industry.
  2. Must have clear understanding of Pennsylvania oil and gas regulations, Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  3. Must possess exceptional writing and communication skills.
  4. Must be able to clearly communicate policies and provide training to staff.
  5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  6. Valid driver’s license.
  7. Ability to read and interpret regulations.
  8. Proficiency in ISNetworld preferred.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver applicable training programs and jobsite safety instruction.
  • Stay current on changing regulations as well as Industry Best Management Practices.
  • Perform investigations for accidents and near misses.
  • Maintain contractor safety program.
  • Maintain PPE program.
  • Conduct safety audits of worksites, and generate reports and recommendation based on findings.
  • Author/provide documentation, procedures, and recordkeeping.
  • Respond to and mitigate potential or existing safety complaints and alerts from residents and regulatory bodies.
