| Responsibilities & Duties: | |||||||||||||
| Performs and reviews the analysis and design activities in completing complex and unique engineering design projects from general drawings and instructions. Position requires extensive knowledge of engineering design principles and practices. Assumes responsibility for technical accuracy and constructability of finished designs. Capable of engineering assignments from education and experience background but does not have a degree in engineering. Works with minimal supervision from Lead Engineer. POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Interprets and analyzes general design provided by engineers. 2. Prepares detailed design for engineer's approval. 3. Acting under minimal guidance from supervision, prepares detailed designs to produce construction drawing packages. 4. Communicates and works closely with all disciplines. 5. Performs and reviews the analysis and design activities in completing complete engineering design projects from general drawings and instructions. 6. Works with vendor drawings. 7. Develops layouts from job scope and vendor information. 8. Compiles construction drawing packages providing detailed designs for all disciplines. 9. Checks other designers' drawings. 10. Checks and reviews shop drawings from equipment suppliers. 11. Develop estimates for new work using scope of work and drawings. 12. Assumes responsibility for technical accuracy and constructability of finished designs. 13. Will perform in a Lead Designer role on projects 14. Will supervise other designers and drafters. |

| Qualifications: | |||||||||||||
| CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Knowledge of engineering design and drafting principles and practices. SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in AutoCAD 2004 or newer version and proficiency with 3-D piping software are required. Knowledge of MS Windows, MS Outlook, MS excel and MS Word is a plus. MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent, plus training such as that normally acquired in the first two years of college or technical school. Work experience may be substituted for some or all of the additional training. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 15 years' experience. |
