This year’s edition of our Eastern Oil & Gas Conference is coming up on August 28-29 at the Monroeville Convention Center just outside Pittsburgh. Whether you are going as an attendee or hope to exhibit, now is the time to make your plans.
If you haven’t participated previously, the event features the region’s largest, longest-running oil and gas trade show, along with a conference that addresses topics of interest to large and small producers alike. The conference schedule provides plenty of opportunity to visit the trade show too, so it’s not an either/or proposition. All conference programming takes place next door to the convention center at the Doubletree Hotel. When the conference concludes on the 29th, PIOGA members are encouraged to stay for a special membership meeting.

The show runs for two full days—9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, and 9-4 on the 29th. To meet exhibitor demand, we have expanded the show to 436 indoor and outdoor spaces. That’s nearly two-dozen more spaces than in 2011, and we expect that nearly 350 companies will be showing an astounding array of products and services of interest to those working in the region’s shale plays as well as conventional oil and gas.
If you just want to visit the show without participating in the conference, that’s an option too. Just pay a $25 admission charge at the door, and you’re good for both days. There’s no advance registration needed (conference registrants automatically have full access to the show, plus networking opportunities, a show preview reception on the evening of the 27th, and a reception and barbecue dinner on the 28th).

Conference highlights
Tuesday, August 28—1-5 p.m.
- Leadership Panel, featuring a discussion among the CEOs of a mix of companies operating in Pennsylvania—conventional producers, shale operators and service companies.
- Update on DEP’s regulatory agenda and implementation on Act 13, with Scott Perry, Deputy Secretary for Oil & Gas Management.
- Report from the Independent Petroleum Association of America on federal issues.
- Truthland screening.
- Update on the Pennsylvania political scene.
- Evening activities: Reception, barbecue dinner and music.
Wednesday, August 29—8:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Concurrent sessions, one covering water and wastewater issues, and the other on a variety of topics including Ohio’s new oil and gas regulations, safety, and deal-making in today’s environment.
- After the conference adjourns, PIOGA members are invited to stay for a membership update.
