PIOGA Eastern Oil & Gas Conference and Trade Show

Tuesday, August 30, 2011 - Wednesday, August 31, 2011
Monroeville Convention Center

August 30-31, Monroeville Convention Center and Doubletree Hotel, Monroeville

It didn’t start in Pennsylvania, but the Keystone State is serving as the template for how the shale-gas revolution will play out in other Eastern states.

Whether the topic is the political climate, environmental regulation, safety, economic opportunity, workforce needs, infrastructure, public perception or community impacts, it’s happening here in Pennsylvania. These issues affect companies involved in the shale play and conventional oil and gas producers alike.

And we’ll be discussing it all as part of our 2011 Eastern Oil & Gas Conference and Trade Show. Conference speakers include:

  • Congressman Tim Murphy, Chairman of the House Natural Gas Caucus
Federal Perspective on Natural Gas Development – Policy and Politics
  • State Representative Brian Ellis
View from the PA House on Natural Gas Issues
  • Michael Krancer, Secretary, PA Department of Environmental Protection
DEP Perspective on Natural Gas Development
  • Patrick Henderson, Governor’s Energy Executive
View from the Governor’s Office and the Marcellus Shale Advisory Commission
  • Richard Gmerek, President, Gmerek Government Relations
Political Climate for Natural Gas Development in Pennsylvania

We also will touch on technical topics and other matters of interest to Pennsylvania’s E&P industry with these presentations:

  • Duration and Energy of Flash Fires and Evaluation of FRC Clothing – Scott Margolin, Westex, Inc.
  • Paraffin? Reactive or Proactive Solutions – Brad Knollenberg & Scott Stutzman, Skye Petroleum
  • PIOGA Annual Meeting of Members – updates on the full range of PIOGA activities through the past year

Come for the Conference, the Show – or Both

In addition to the conference, the event also hosts the only full-scale oil and gas trade show in the eastern half of the U.S. We have expanded the show again for 2011, and there will be more than 325 companies offering a huge array of products and services of interest to the region’s producers.

The conference schedule is designed to provide attendees plenty of time to visit the indoor and outdoor exhibits. The show is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday the 31st. The conference, meanwhile, runs from 1-5 p.m. (followed by a reception and barbecue dinner) on Tuesday, then 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday.

Conference registration includes full access to the trade show. We also offer show-only admission for a $25 charge at the door, with no advance registration necessary.

The Monroeville Convention Center and the adjacent DoubleTree Pittsburgh/Monroeville Convention Center are just east of Pittsburgh and conveniently located for much of Pennsylvania’s oil and gas industry, as well as those working in West Virginia, Ohio and New York. Monroeville is about 40 minutes from the Pittsburgh International Airport, just off I-376 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
