Energy in Depth hailed Earth Day with a release of a new video which demonstrated that CO2 emissions in the United States are at their lowest level in 20 years thanks in large part to increased natural gas development.

The video features quotes from top officials in the Obama administration and leading scientists and academics. As U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.) explains, “We’ve been improving our emissions in this county without agreeing to the Kyoto accords, without Congressional action because of innovation from the natural gas area.”

EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy credits natural gas as being a “game changer” in achieving emissions reductions. As the blog post that accompanied the video highlighted, “[i]t’s little wonder, then, why Cal-Berkeley physics professor Richard Muller recently said, ‘Environmentalists who oppose the development of shale gas and fracking are making a tragic mistake.’”

The video has generated a lot of hits on social media and even garnered heated attention from said radical environmentalists. Watch the video above or by clicking here.
