PIOGA continues to work with other groups representing the conventional  oil and natural gas industry in opposing HB 1607, which would change the status quo to require participation in the PA One Call program by all conventional oil and natural gas production and rural gathering pipelines and related facilities. This week these three groups sent the memo below to members of the House of Representatives to inform them of the conventional industry’s concern with this legislation, which attempts to address in a costly and inefficient manner a public safety problem that does not exist. We will be providing additional, more detailed information supporting our position to retain the status quo and to respond to misstatements by supporters of this legislation, primarily the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and the PA One Call System.
